The Artist Displacement Prevention Grant (ADPG) program provides financial assistance to artists who are facing the threat of displacement, including short-term eviction, loss of shelter, rent increases, or homelessness. The primary goal of this pilot grant program is to prioritize historically oppressed artists and address the most pressing issue in the Bay Area: housing.

Our organization is dedicated to supporting artists facing displacement in the Bay Area. We believe that by providing immediate assistance to stabilize artist housing, we can foster stronger connections within the arts community and raise awareness about the housing crisis that has historically impacted this underserved workforce.

Vital Arts is excited to announce the third round of the Artist Displacement Prevention Grant (ADPG), a vital initiative addressing the issue of artist displacement in the Bay Area. This program will provide 7 need-based grants of $3,000 each, which will be distributed to artists residing in Alameda County for December 2025. The ADPG prioritizes historically marginalized artists to tackle one of our most pressing challenges: housing.

Please note, this is not an artistic production grant. ADPG is for housing stabilization purposes only. Please visit the eligibility page below for more information regarding application requirements.

For this round of funding, LGBTQIA+ BIPOC artists will be prioritized, but all artists residing in Alameda County and facing displacement are eligible. We understand that $3,000 alone is not enough to prevent displacement, but we are confident that this amount can serve as a meaningful step toward stability.

The Artist Displacement Prevention Grant offers emergency assistance to artists facing eviction, significant rent increases, or homelessness. We work closely with local artists, activists, and organizations to ensure that resources are distributed fairly to those most in need. Vital Arts is also dedicated to providing technical assistance to applicants, helping them navigate housing challenges. We believe that these emergency funds will not only stabilize struggling artists but also support our effort to prioritize the most vulnerable members of our community.
